Canada immigration welcomes young Irish with Canada skilled visas

Canada, 26th July: Canada immigration is offering increased number of Canada visas to skilled Irish workers recently.

According to available statistics by Canada immigration department, the number of immigrants hailing from Ireland has witnessed a significant increase in the year 2008 as compared to nearly a decade ago. In the year 1999, number of temporary migrants moving to Canada from Ireland was 874 which went up to 2,604 in the year 2008.

Many young, educated and unemployed Irish who have been struggling to find jobs in the their selected fields are seeking Canada immigration. Canada is following the UK and Australia to welcome Irish people into its economy.

There also has been a big increase in the number of permanent immigrants hailing from Ireland entering Canada. The number of permanent immigrants in Canada in the year 2008 went up to 500 as compared to 158 in the year 1999.

And the figures for the year 2010 till June are more encouraging, reveals a Canadian official.

27-year-old Adrian Dobbyn is among several Irish lawyers who applied for Canada visas in January once he was told by his firm in Dublin of the intending plans to lay of half of the firm’s trainees. Hence, seeking immigration to Toronto was an obvious choice for several qualified and unemployed Irish lawyers like Dobbyn.

The reasons for choosing Toronto was due to several reasons. Dobbyn had known many people from his law school\ who had successfully got jobs in Toronto after immigrating to Canada on skilled visas. Presently, Dobbyn is on temporary employment at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, a Bay Street firm.

Another Irish youngster who has decided to seek Canada immigration is Laura Cross, a 23-year-old biochemistry graduate from Dublin. She feels she will get increased opportunities in Canada as compared to those at her native nation.

Cross says that she wants to move to Canada at the earliest available time to get away from the big bad world in Ireland.
Canadian economy is strong and approves a total of 2,500 Canada travel/work visas every year to Irish migrants and Canada visas are now receiving oversubscriptions now, confirms an official from Canada immigration.
