Canada immigration restricting entry of immigrants into Canada

Canada, 27th July: Canada immigration seems to be limiting opportunities for immigration into Canada for people hailing from different countries.

This appears imminent following announcement of recent amendments in Canada immigration policies by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
As per the changed rules of Canada immigration, to become eligible for immigration into Canada as a skilled worker, applicants need to possess either work experience in any one of the 29 listed occupations in high-demand in Canada or should have received an offer of job in Canada from any prospective Canadian employer.
The changes in the rules were announced by Canadian immigration minister Jason Kenney on June 26.
In addition, the number of immigrants allowed into Canada annually under the Federal skilled worker category have also been reduced to merely 20,000 each year. And the number of applicants for each in-demand occupation in Canada will be restricted to a maximum of 1,000 each year, Canada immigration has clarified.
However, the upper limit of 1,000 applications for each occupation is not applicable to candidates having an offer of job in Canada from a Canadian employer, Canada immigration department’s official website has maintained.
The in-demand list of 29 occupations revealed by Canada immigration includes fields of dentists, business managers and insurance adjusters, nurses and social workers, food service and restaurant managers including cooks and chefs, physicians, physiotherapists, pharmacists, individuals in construction like mechanics, carpenters, plumbers, electricians and other workers.
All applicants desirous for Canada immigration under Federal skilled worker stream need to include results of French or English language test along with their Canada visa applications. Earlier, candidates desiring to move to Canada were allowed to either undertake an English/French language test or submit proof of proficiency in the language (English/French).
And this requirement of undergoing compulsory language tests is applicable to even those who were born and brought up in a native English country like the UK (United Kingdom) and also those who are graduates of Oxford University.
Moreover, lack of essential skills in language could prevent you from immigrating to Canada even if you are a plumber or a carpenter, the changed rules of Canada immigration maintain.
