Canada’s first immigration website in Saskatchewan

Canada, 22nd April: Saskatchewan has become the first Canadian province to have come up with an immigration website.

The website will enable various prospective immigrants to Canada to make their applications for Canada immigration online.

Among the information details to be provided by the new immigration website will include basics like how to make application for Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP) and will also help the applicants to know about the current status of their applications for Canada immigration.

The new endeavor by Canada immigration department is likely to ease difficulties faced by several immigrants on their way to obtain a Canada visa.

According to Ercoph Bongomin, an immigrant in Canada, such an effort by Canada immigration officials would have eased his journey to Saskatchewan nearly 10 years ago since it took much longer for him to get the desired information.

It was in 2001 that Bongomin had migrated to Canadian province Saskatchewan all the way from Egypt along with his family comprising his wife and four children. Presently, Bongomin is employed as an accountant.

The website was launched by Saskatchewan government earlier this week for providing facility of making immigration applications for Canada online.

According to provincial minister responsible for immigration, Rob Norris, the new and the first of its kind website will help in increasing efficiency with the provincial office. The staff will get to focus more on processing of various Canada visa applications.

The minister further stressed that the site aims to reduce significantly the time involved in processing of an application for Canada immigration.

The site, hopes Norris, will encourage prospective immigrants to Canada to opt for Saskatchewan as their destination place after immigrating to Canada. The aim is to attract and invite nearly 10,000 prospective immigrants to Saskatchewan province of Canada, he added. In the year 2009, nearly 9,000 immigrants seeking Canada immigration had chosen Saskatchewan due to SINP.

Increased immigration in Canada’s Saskatchewan is needed for filling various job positions and for the growth of the economy, Norris asserted.
