A recent study conducted by Sky news indicates that people of UK want immediate and stricter action on Immigration. They feel that the population is quite huge in the country and any new entry will burden up the facilities available to the natives. The immigrants come here with the dream of earning more, leading a better life and providing a secured and sound future to their children.
The Survey results
A large number of respondents of poll conducted by Sky news opine that a strict action needs to be taken to curb immigration. More than 65% of people believe that that the target of reducing migration to 100,000 per year is too small and something more needs to be done.
The issue is likely to throw and impact on the elections too, as more than 505 respondents believe that they will vote for the party promising to curb immigration rate in the country.
The concerned lot
People who do not have direct interaction with immigrants are also against the immigration and feel that the numbers should be reduced majorly.
It would be painful for the immigrants taking up “Naturalization process” that most of the fellow friends don’t want them in the country and feel that they are damaging the nation in some way or the other.
Government’s take on the issue
A spokesperson of David Cameron informed that effective measures are being taken about the issue. Chancellor George Osbome informed that the number of immigrants’ entry has been reduced by a third in the last couple of years.
While blaming Labour Government for the signing in treaties which allowed many new countries to send their natives to UK, he assured that the Conservatives are taking the required steps.
David Cameron also informed that the borders are better controlled now than they were before.
He opines that economic success of the country should not depend on the immigrants only.
The rising immigrant population
While analyzing the population in UK one would realize that in another two decades it would hit the figure of 73 million. And two thirds of the increase in population is mainly due to the increased immigration rate.
The shared facilities
The existing Government also believes that immigrants coming to the country should spend more time before availing the facilities in UK.
In the same survey conducted by Sky news, more than 50% of the poll participants opined that companies in UK should offer the job openings to the natives than the immigrants.
A high number of people are concerned about free entry of immigrants from some of the countries.
Some also strongly recommend that the immigrants coming from certain countries should be made to pay a bond of a minimum of £1,000 before visiting Britain.
Rise in immigrant population is a major concern for UK as the Britishers fee that their facilities and opportunities are being shared by the outsiders. Hence there is a strong recommendation to curb the entry by introducing and imposing stricter rules than before.
