Canada, December 9: Here is good news for the economy of Canada. Canada’s tourism is heading for a big boom after the country has been listed by China as one of the favored travel destinations for Chinese.
This was conveyed by China during the first ever visit of Prime Minister Stephen Harper to China.
With Canada listed among the approved travel destinations for the Chinese, it is likely to usher millions of dollars in the tourism industry of Canada.
Following a joint statement issued by Canadian and Chinese officials during Harper’s visit to China a few days ago, it has become quite easy for Chinese people to visit Canada not just on student visas or business visas but even on tourist visas.
No wonder, Canada has even surpassed United States in terms of favored tourist destinations for Chinese travelers.
James Wang, who is a tour guide in a Chinese Travel Agency in Los Angeles, asserts, “Canada is probably even more favored than the United States in terms of travel and immigration destinations for the Chinese. It is much easier, more hassle-free, and much more friendly. Plus, the public welfare and medical system is much better than the United States.”
Although, there was a tremendous interest among Chinese people to visit and explore the land of Canada, the recent approval of Canada as a travel destination is likely to bring in increased number of Chinese travelers to Canada, feels an operator at Toronto’s Chinese Travel Agency, Peter Wei.
“We have already seen a surge in interests for Chinese visitors to travel to Canada. With the approved travel destination status, there will be more business for us,” reaffirms Wei.
And the boom in the tourism industry of Canada will result in a hike in the prices of the real estate properties in the country. The reason is that people will not just visit Canada, they will also shop for many things including houses and it will cause a significant rise in the rates of properties in Toronto and Vancouver, feels Dawn Feng, who has sufficient knowledge of real estate property rates in Vancouver.
By the year 2015, Canada is all set to see a surge in the yearly rate of Chinese travelers by whopping 50 percent.
