Australian MP wants that the labor should try to increase their working hours and help the country cut down on the immigration level.

The MP Kelvin Thompson says that the country may be able to face the ageing population and sustain it. This may be achieved if the productivity of the current population of the country.
Now, according to the MP, the productivity can be increased only if the working hours are increased. In addition, he is also of the opinion that immigration to the country should also be reduced. The intake of workers and migrants should be reduced. The migrants are allowed through a 457 visa. So, the MP says that the 457 visa program has now become more of a business. It has become the tool for spawning migration agents, and hire cheap labors for the employers. According to him, there should be a labor market test for the employers to prove that they won’t be able to obtain the labor elsewhere.
He opines that the new people come with huge requirements. Generally, they bring along their families and thus all may require houses to stay in, schools where they may be bale to admit their children, hospitals for medical reasons, and many others may want to get English language training and may be some other forms of assistance too.
He is against the government’s decision to bring in skilled labors for restructuring the whole of the country. The government had said that the country needs extra skilled labors after the floods; and the MP criticizes this. He trashes this idea given by the government.
He wants the workers to increase their timings to cope with the repair works. This will not only help to fasten the repair work, but will also lessen the need to bring in skilled labors in the country as said by the government. This can help in lowering the population of the country and thus the expenses of the country too. In addition, he also wants the government to slash some of the welfare measures especially for the middle class that encourages them to have more children. He wants that the combined $3 billion used for welfare of the middle class should rather be used for enhancing the skills of the young and the qualifications of the probable. He also wants the government to abolish the HECS.
