Australian immigration department planning recruitment drive in London

Australia, 6th August: Are you living in the UK and possess skills in medical, engineering or other trades? And most important, are you looking to move to Australia?

Well, if the answers to all the above questions is a ‘yes’, then, as per the Australian government, you are a good candidate for Australia.

In a latest bid to enable potential employers meet skilled workers from Britain, Australian immigration will host an employment drive in London in the month of September. This was revealed by an official spokesperson of Australian immigration department DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship).

Australia needs skilled workers for different industries in the nation. And the expo by Australian government titled ‘Skills Australia Needs’ is aimed to become a platform for employers and workers having skills in health, construction and mining industries.

Representatives of some of the major employers in Australia and governments of various Australian territories and states will participate in the expo. This will help skilled workers from the UK get detailed information about various options of career or jobs in Australia. Workers hailing from the UK wanting to get sponsorship offers from employers in Australia must attend this expo.

The London expo is slated to be organized on September 11 and 12.

The ‘Skills Australia Needs’ expo will be organized by Australian immigration department despite the Australian government’s urge to bring down levels of Australian immigration significantly.

In the last year’s London Expo, a total of 38 exhibitors including Australian government organizations, employers from Australia and relocation service providers participated. In addition, a total of 1800 UK skilled workers especially those with skills in big demand in Australia also took part in the expo.

The recruitment expo was a huge success, claimed an official of the Australian immigration department behind the 2009 London expo, for the skilled migrants from the UK as well as the Australian employers.

Nearly 90 percent of the participants in the expo of 2009 admitted of recommending expos to their friends. 80 percent considered such expos as a good opportunity for finding a suitable sponsor for immigrating to Australia in the near future.
