Australia, UK gives approval to Cambridge English

Nepal, 24th August: All aspiring foreign students wanting to come to Australia or the UK will now be allowed to use Cambridge English qualifications for immigration, Australian and UK immigration departments have announced.

This latest announcement was made during a press conference organized in Kathmandu, Nepal on 19th August by Planet Edu Nepal.

This center provides the facility of IELTS tests for the past four years.

Cambridge English recognized by UKBA and DIAC—The statement reveals that the UK Border Agency (UKBA) and the DIAC(Department of Citizenship and Immigration) have provided recognition to Cambridge English Examination including International Certification of Financial English(ICFE), Certificated Version of Business Language Testing Service(BULATS), International Legal English Certificate(ILEC), Certificate of Proficiency in English(CPE), Certificated Version of Business Language Testing Service(BEC), Key English Test(KET), Preliminary English Test(PET), Business English Certificate(BEC) and Certificate of Advanced English(CAE).

English proficiency compulsory for studying in the UK--This is a significant announcement for aspirants of UK visas and Australian visas keeping in view the fact that English language requirements have been made compulsory for all foreign students making application for UK visa under UK Tier 4 visa, UK Tier 1 visa and UK Tier 2 visa categories of the UK immigration.

Proof of having proficiency in English language is must for seeking immigration to the UK for the purposes of getting higher education there, the UKBA claims.

DIAC recognizes CAE--And the Australian immigration department-DIAC (Department of immigration and citizenship) has also announced that Cambridge English Exams (CAE) will be held valid for all applicants seeking Australia student visas.

Earlier, the Australian immigration department accepted IELTS (International English Language Testing System) as the valid test for English proficiency. Australian education minister Chris Bowen has expressed his happiness over the acceptance of Cambridge English Exams for the purposes of Australian immigration.

He hoped that Cambridge English test providers will extend valuable service to all aspirants of Australian student visas. Cambridge English Exams are relatively easier than the IELTS and other English proficiency exams, many foreign students admit.

Moreover, the course is quite flexible as compared with other tests of English language, hence, majority of foreign students are likely to opt for CAE than other English proficiency exams.
