Applying for a Work Permit outside Canada

In the 'old days, perhaps the in last ten years, representing clients seeking to enter Canada under the category of skilled workers was a pleasure, feel most immigration consultants

The program is the backbone of the contribution to build the country's Immigration Department. Applications in this category are enthusiastically received and processed within one year.

The lawyers representing those customers valued their ratings according to a table to identify and target points according to these regulations.

When requests are filled and points are 'sealed' then the applicant is then protected from any change in the selection criteria that occurred after the application was full. The success was easy to predict.

It now appears that the officers care more about building the country. In addition, applications are taken on average five to six years for processing. In 20% of cases, this process takes much longer.

This application package includes:
•an instruction guide, and
•All required forms.

The instruction guide is a tool that:
•provides the information you need to know before sending your application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada ( CIC ), and
•Will help you complete the forms and the required supporting documents.

Read the instruction guide thoroughly before completing each form.

The forms contain questions that will assist in processing your request.

Now, when requests are made, forms, reference letters, bank statements, etc. are retained for five years before an immigration officer for the first time you see them. When they do, the first thing they ask is to be updated both the application and accompanying documents. Presently from 1st April 2011, you can work in Canada for a maximum of four years. So you have to start calculating your period of work from 1st April 2011.

The Immigration Department recently announced simplification of the application process "for many applications.

Eligible applicants submit their applications in just a simple three-page form and appropriate payment. The necessary documents will be included not far from the beginning. This will ensure a place in the list of processes.

When the application is ready to be considered, the visa office will ask the necessary documents. This will prevent both the applicant and the immigration officer to do double work, but that does not mean your application is processed faster.

For those who think to seek legal help until their turn at the immigration office, I think it's a bad idea. The department warns that "you must meet all the requirements when completing your application." It would be a tragedy waiting five years on the list only to discover that when you apply, you somehow missed something.

Changes to Temporary Foreign Worker Program

Changes to Temporary Foreign Worker Program are effective from 1st April 2011. These amendments are intended to help us better protect your rights when you come to work in Canada by ensuring that employers comply with the requirements of their job.

When applying for work permits, employers will be evaluated on:

Strict criteria to confirm the seriousness of the job (Truthfulness);

History of compliance with the commitments outlined in the offer of employment to foreign workers hired in the last two years (essentially the same);

Compliance is required with the laws of federal, provincial and territorial governments.

In cases where employers fail to meet their commitments with foreign workers, they may be ineligible for recruitment of foreign labor for a period of two years.

You can apply for a work permit as soon as you receive written evidence of the job offer or contract and the notice of the labor market (AMT) of HRSDC. In cases where the AMT is not required, you can apply when you have written evidence of the job offer from your employer.

To work in Canada, you may need a temporary resident visa.

A temporary resident visa is an official document issued by an agent that is placed in your passport. It serves to confirm that you have fulfilled the general requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident.

It is also to be remembered that the family members include spouses, common-law spouse, dependent children and dependent child of a dependent child.

Dependent children accompanying you can study in Canada. Their applications for study permits must be submitted at the same time as yours. If they are to arrive after you, they must obtain a study permit before coming to Canada.

When you get to the point of entry into Canada, an officer will make a final determination. Note that you must select the Canadian visa office in your country of residence in your country of nationality or the country where you are legally established for at least a year.
