Amnesty worries get grave after the recent announcement by Obama

Obama, the President of USA makes an effort to support the stay of undocumented immigrants in the country, especially those who are associated with military personnels.
The effort made by the President is largely known as “parole in place”.

The aim of the effort
The effort intends to reduce the pressure of officials at immigration department so that the parents and spouses and even the minor children do not face any harassment while their family members on the duty of protecting and saving the country.

There was a time when the relatives of military personnel’s had to leave the country to get a legal status in the US. And further, they faced a situation when they were not allowed to enter, creating a situation when they had to get separated from their beloved ones.
However, no they need not leave US to get a legal status as they can always submit their application even while staying back in USA.

The precursor to this decision
Sometime ago, President had introduced a law to ensure that young and undocumented immigrants re not thrown away from the country because, it was felt strongly that they are not responsible for their presence in the country illegally. The logic was that most of these undocumented immigrants were brought to USA by their parents or their relatives when they were of the age of school going.

The overall impact
The recent decision coming the President has raised a lot many questions around. Such a policy is observed as a favor to the immigrants.

The number of illegal immigrants being affected by this decision is yet not decided. The experts in the field opine that the decision would affect a large number of illegal immigrants.

The president made up his mind to make such a decision after being requested by people who are have got their families separated, merely because they have no legal status in USA in spite of staying here for a quite a long time.

The decision would certainly ease out the tension for many military families who have been living under the fear of being deported.
And the ease would be affecting as many as 35,000 non-citizens who have been serving the military for years now.

The power with Department of Homeland Security
This department was given the power to stop deportation though a long time back, but the implementation is yet to be in place.
In another two years or so, the Department will have to take a decision if all the illegal entities present in the country can be allowed to stay back or will have to get deported.

Illegal Immigrants have always been living under the threat of being deported from the country any minute, however, there are relaxations coming their way time to time from President Obama. Few months ago it came in the form of DREAM Act, which allowed many such people to stay legally and now it is a special privilege for the families of military people.
