4 Simple Steps to apply for a US visa

Getting U.S. visa can take from a couple of weeks to even years. So, it all depends on the category of visa you need to get, submission of complete papers and the status with regard to the U.S.
Steps to apply for a US visa----
1. Submission of passport, photos--- Applicants applying for a US visa must submit their passport along with small-sized photographs along with the US immigration application form in the US embassy.
2. Fees—Applicant also needs to submit a fee which is non-refundable in order to be eligible for visa interview. The interview for the US visa is conducted by the US visa consulate.
3. Prior time and date--A prior time and date must be collected by the applicant for facing the interview for the US visa. The interview/filing appointment usually takes around two days and needs to be duly completed in person.
4. Supportive documents—In addition, the applicant is also required to submit all the relevant supportive documents with the US visa application form to the consulate officer in order to become eligible for grant of US visa from the US immigration officials.
Useful tips---
1. Always make a couple of copies of documents a couple of days ahead. You might need to provide passports, birth certificates, US tax returns(of last three years), proof of student status, , proof of marital status, proof of military service, proof of residence in the US, letters from officials of bank giving lists of your US bank holdings, pictures showing proof of you along with your spouse staying together.
2. Seek advice from your relatives or friends who have undergone the same visa process.
3. You need exercise persistence and patience as the US embassy has lots of applications for US visa.
4. Check official websites of INS(Immigration and Naturalization Service) which can prove to be of help in downloading INS forms.
