Canada, 16th August: Nearly 1400 new jobs in Canada are likely to be created by Canada’s clean energy projects.

The projects are a part of the projected 50,000 new jobs by Ottawa in green energy sector.
The first module facility will be set up nearly 60 miles west of Toronto in Guelph and will help in creation of 500 jobs in Canada. This is being regarded as the first module facility of its kind in North America.
Also, another 900 jobs will be created in Canada through a wind turbine blade production plant by Siemens and Samsung in another site in Ontario.
These projects are being lauded by the Canada Solar Inc. officials and are seen as a success for the Green Energy Act launched by Ontario last year.
Apart from Siemens and Samsung, a number of companies are expressing their upcoming projects for creating wind turbine and solar production facilities in Ontario in the coming times.
However, the only requirement by Green Energy Act is that companies wanting to get clean energy projects should be using Ontario services and products for a certain fixed percentage of the project.
A total of 20,000 new green economy jobs including direct and indirect jobs will be the result of the 694 contracts for clean energy projects. These projects will involve around $9 billion investment.
According to official news released by Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, these clean energy projects will be sufficient to supply power to 600,000 homes in Canada each year.
Speaking about the big achievement by Canada, minister of energy and infrastructure, Brad Duguid, said that Ontario feels proud to announce two significant milestones including biggest solar module plant in North America and one and only wind turbine blade production plant.
Clean energy projects are part of ‘Open Ontario’ plan for generating opportunities of growth and employment in the region. They will help in creation of new jobs in information technology, software, engineering, finance, installation, construction, operations and maintenance.
Duguid added that Ontario has expressed its openness for doing business and looks forward to more and more businesses to help provide sufficient supply of clean energy to people of Ontario in the coming times.
