BSNL slashes internet rate for subscribers

Ludhiana, August 26: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has slashed the rates of its broadband service for the subscribers who have less usage of the internet.
These subscribers can now use data of 400 MB (Mega Bytes) by paying a monthly rent of Rs 250.
Suresh Badal, Deputy General Manager, BSNL, Ludhiana, under whom the facility is being provided, said the scheme would be available from August 16.
The earlier plan - for users with more usage - is still available. Under this plan, the customer has to pay Rs 500 per month and one Giga Byte/ 1000 MB can be uploaded or downloaded.’’ Meanwhile, the response to the broadband service of BSNL has been good.
In a span of three months, nearly 600 subscribers have opted for this service. In Ludhiana, maximum subscribers (129) of the service are from Bharat Nagar exchange.
The broadband service of BSNL was launched in the city on May 17, World Communication Day. After Chandigarh, Ludhiana is the first city in Punjab where this facility was launched.
