The Canadian government has lifted the visa-requirements for people from Hungary. But the immigration wave would be kept under control by the Canadian as well as the Hungarian government, assures minister of citizenship and immigration, Diane Finley, in an interview.
Minister Finley also said that her meeting with the representatives of the Hungarian government was based on the requirement for preventing the migration wave that avails at present. She reported that one of the steps that have been decided in favor of the motion is a constant information flow between the two governments. Minister Finley did not disclosed any further details on the results of the meeting.
Finley emphasized on the fact that Canada need skilled labors urgently and therefore, anyone having a visa is welcomed into Canada as possible workers. At the same time, all those who are seeking refugee status will not be able to get any job, minister Finley said.
It is worth noticing that earlier the Hungarians had the privilege of traveling to Canada without a visa. But the country has lost the privilege since far too many Hungarians opted for the same without being entitled for it from any stretch of imagination.
On the 2nd of March 2008, Canada has lifted its visa requirements for people from Hungary, Polish, Lithuania and Slovakia.
