Illegal in USA –left USA by an inch-now faces deportation!!!!

About a month ago, a bar dancer who had been illegally settled in USA for past six years took a wrong turn and entered Canada. As she realized and was offered to return to US by taking a turn around the pole, she was refused admission to USA for want of papers.

Gradually as the things emerged, it came out that she was an illegal in USA who had entered US on a six month visitor visa but had stayed on. She was working on cash jobs only, the latest one of a bar dancer. She faces deportation now.

In less than a month later, in another case a student who stayed on in US even after expiry of Visa took a wrong turn and is now facing deportation.

Returning from a night’s fun with friends and unfamiliar with the area, Chehade and a friend took the wrong turn into Canada. As they realized their mistake, it was too late as they had to clear US customs.

Chehade was arrested by border officers. He was sent to the immigration detention center in Tacoma, where he spent two weeks before being released on bail. “I left the country by an inch,” Chehade said.

Chehade, from Peru, was staying illegally since his teen years. Political compulsions are forcing Democratic Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell to ask for introduction of a private bill to give Chehade permanent residency.

“This young man came to the United States with his parents and has overcome a number of obstacles to lead an exemplary life in the United States, including graduation from the University of Washington in 2009,” McDermott said in a statement. “As a longtime supporter of the American DREAM Act… I am proud to play a small role in trying to help him stay in the United States with his community, which loves him.”

Chehade has an order of removal, meaning immigration authorities could arrest him any day; however; he continues his fight from US only and is not leaving USA, instead of voluntarily leaving as he originally planned.
