Pregnant woman being deported although doctor clearly says ‘it’s dangerous’

The deportation has been finalized and the Montivero family will be deported on Wednesday. In spite of letters from her obstetrician and also from the airlines, her deportation wasn’t postponed. Her obstetrician is disgusted of this and says that if he writes to the airline officials to let a pregnant woman go on a two hour vacation flight then they do so but at present, when he is clearly saying that due to pregnancy, it is really unsafe for Yesica to fly 14 hours, they say that if anything happens to her then they are not responsible for that and it is the immigration officials who are to be blamed.

He elaborates the difficulties that may arise and explains that due to radiations in the upper atmosphere, it is unsafe for pregnant women. He says that if it is really urgent then he recommends a maximum of ten hours of flying during the whole pregnancy. But what is really worrying him is the fact that the flight to Argentina is of 14-hours.

According to the doctor, Yesica is already experiencing per vaginal bleeding and this indicates that she might miscarry. A small subchorionic hematoma was detected by the ultrasound. Thus, the patient’s bleeding can become severe and cause her to miscarry. This would certainly lead to misery for this innocent woman.

Jesica also suffers from hyperemesis gravidarum, nausea and vomiting that needs medication. If not treated properly at that time, it might lead to dehydration and other medical problems.

Her doctor requested the immigration officials to let her stay in Canada for at least six weeks post her delivery. But it seems that the qualification of the doctor as an obstetrician does not qualify with immigration.

Who will make these bureaucrats feel and understand the pain and difficulties of this woman and her unborn child? Now, where are the human rights activists?
