Less people are entering illegally into the country

On an interesting note, it seems that the combination of a decrease of low wage jobs and increase of border enforcement have controlled the rate of illegal immigration into the United States.
Now, it seems that immigration may not be a strong topic to debate on in the US Presidential race between Democratic Presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and GOP Presidential nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona. Immigration will definitely be one of the balancing acts that McCain has to manage. But it is now just a matter of time when immigration issues will loose its appeal.
Earlier today, the Pew Hispanic Center released a report according to which, less people are trying to enter the country through illegal means. It also noted that there are lesser number of people living illegally in this country.
Now, the report noted, that there are more number of people who are coming to this country legally than illegally. According to experts, the drop in the number of illegal immigrations is cited by a combination to the United States current economy and also an increase of law enforcement in the country. In short, we can say that people are thinking twice to enter illegally. Under the current circumstances, it is highly difficult and dangerous to cross the border. They will have to put a lot at stake and even then, they will get very little in return.
All this will surely discourage many people from even planning to enter illegally into the country. There are also reports that remittances to the United States is declining at a rapid pace.
