Sameer Sheth and Jignesh Patanvadia, from Ahemdabad, were deported from Doha Johannesburg airports were found to be forged.
Both these persons claimed themselves to be victims of Visa fraud and were reportedly duped by agents who promised them visas for England and South Africa respectively.
Immediately after landing in India, they were arrested by Crime Branch Officials on charge of forging the documents. As no local agent was involved in their getting the forged visa, they were granted bail last Saturday.
However crime branch officials are not going to let the case slip away. They are being questioned for their complicity in getting forged visas and if proved they would be booked as co-accused in the case.
Sheth was deported while boarding a flight to London from Doha when an alert security officer found his visa to be forged one. However later on investigations revealed that while his passport and visa were genuine, the papers submitted by him to get the visa issued were forged.
Similarly, Patanvadia, a native of Mehsana, had sought visa from Prakash Shah, a London-based immigration agent, for South Africa. He then took a flight from Mumbai to Johannesburg where he was caught on the clearance counter and his visa was found to be forged. He was later deported to Ahmedabad.
