Canada requires financial support in order to support immigrants.

At a time when birth rate level has gone far too low and it is not in any position to uphold the population, Canadian immigration is the only way to ensure the growth of the country. According to the Ottawa Citizen newspaper, Canada needs to be able to attract more number of immigrants to live and work in Canada so that the country could prosper. However, the newspaper stated that there is need for more funding to cities and towns to assist immigrants in settling for achieving the desired results.

There are about eighty percent of the Canadians who live in urban areas and this includes most of the immigrants living in Canada. The newspaper stated that instead of looking at immigration as a federal issue, it should be seen as a municipal issue, and more help should be provided to them on a local level in order to make sure that immigrants can thrive and prosper.

For many people coming to Canada, the availability and accessibility of government services such as housing and welfare is a must. In the process of settling in Canada, these people are adjusting to a new lifestyle, culture and in many cases, languages as well. But many cities are not able to efficiently support the vast numbers of immigrants arriving in their area.

The Ottawa Citizen states that increasing the funding for immigrants will be very useful for immigration in future, as with the help of these services immigrants get a chance to become productive members of the society, and develop the next generation Canadians who are the hope for a better future.
