He was living an American dream but now faces deportation

A local man is ordered to be deported after he repeatedly failed to acquire political asylum in the United States.

For six years, Kristo Papa has been legally working with a work permit in Charlottesville as chef at the Glenmore Country Club, but Papa hasn’t been able to qualify for US citizenship.

He said that this has happened because of the mistakes his past lawyers made, and those mistakes cost him and his family a beautiful life in the United States.

Kristo Papa said that he never did anything wrong and was never involved in any crime of any kind. He said that he is just like an American citizen who paid his taxes, bought a house and helped the economy. So why should he asked to pack his bags and move, he queried.

Elmira Khakimova, Kristo’s wife, said that every night, the family used to think about it, gather at the kitchen table, and wondered as to what they will do the next day.

Kristo Papa was living a dream life in America. After fleeing from his home country eight years ago, he had got his own home in Fishersville, had a successful well-paying job, and also had a family with a woman he fell in love with after arriving here in Charlottesville. After achieving so many things here, he is still not able to gain residency.

Papa said that he decided to follow the legal way required by his country and said that he would continue his fight even now. He said that he has already spent a lot of money with his lawyers.

Mr. Papa ran out of Albania due to his political beliefs. At first, he escaped to Canada and then crossed the border into the US. He said that Albania was not in favor of giving him a visa directly to the US.

Papa says that he was literally forced to come illegally to the United States as this was the only way to save his life. He said that he is really worried regarding the future of his wife and his twenty month old son, Nicholas, in case he will be deported out of the country.

Elmira said that he just can’t think of going away from his mom and dad and taking her son away from the grandparents.

Papa took the services of three immigration lawyers, who forgot to include all the required documents. As a result of this, the appeal was rejected.
