Obama speaks on US immigration reform

President of the United States, Barack Obama, has said that he remains committed towards passing a comprehensive reform of the immigration laws of the country. The president said in front of a gathering of Hispanics that borders of the nation must be made stronger in order to put brakes on illegal immigration.

The president said in front of a gathering of Hispanics that borders of the nation must be made stronger in order to put brakes on illegal immigration.
He said that people of America believe in immigration, but the same people also believe that people who sneak into the United States in violation of the laws of the nation should not be entertained. Mr. Obama also said that all those millions of people who are illegally living in the United States should be provided a chance to become citizens of the country.
He said at the Esperanza National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and conference that in case of people who live in the United States illegally but want to become citizens, the government wants them to pay a penalty and pay taxes, acquire proper knowledge of English and then take themselves to the back of the line and stand behind people who followed proper path for acquiring citizenship. He added that the idea is fair, absolutely practical and shows a great way ahead.
The president did not mentioned as to when will the immigration reform legislation be passes, but said that progress has been made by his administration in terms of strengthening security of the border.
Mr. Obama also said that employers should not be provided with any opportunity to exploit illegal immigrants and thus, drive the wages down.
