Canadian spies are sincerely set on their duty to spot fake marriages cases.

With the rise in the number cases of foreigners dumping the Canadian citizens after marrying them, in order to get easy entry into Canada, the Canadian government ahs started taking measures to prevent it. According to the latest report, the government has sent secret squads too many countries in order to collect information on these fraud marriages, as an attempt to stop the trend at the earliest.

The major victims of such marriages are the Immigrant communities, including the Indo-Canadians that seek matrimonial alliances in these countries. According to The Globe and Mail, Canada’s most respected daily, each team that has been sent by the Citizenship and Immigration Department, comprises of five members. Their main purpose is to get some concrete information on these marriages.

Without actually stating the target countries of these weddings or their methods, government sources said that they would gather information regarding the fake marriages where photographs are enacted to acquire a visa. And send it to the Canadian visa offices located in those countries. Visa officials are also being trained to ask better questions from the married couples who are willing to settle in Canada.

The immigration system is so lenient that someone in India can easily come to Canada, just after six months of marriage with a Canadian. Yet another fact is that Canada immediately grants the status of permanent residents to newly arrived spouses. Whereas in countries like Australia, a newly arrived spouse must spend at least two years in the country with his/her partner, in order to be eligible for permanent residency.

Therefore, it is not surprising that an increasing number of brides, especially from Punjab, have dumped their partners immediately after landing in the country.

Since most of these fake marriages are arranged in Punjab, India is definitely among the top targets of the team.
