Hi people! I hope you picked up a few points from my previous article ‘Believe in Yourself’ and used them in your life.
In this concluding article, I will give you 10 suggestions for overcoming your inferiority complex and to develop faith.
Lack of confidence apparently is one of the greatest problems faced by people today. Everywhere you come across people, who are afraid, suffer from a sense of inadequacy and insecurity, who doubt their own abilities. People do not trust their abilities and therefore do not grasp opportunities thinking that they are incapable of doing so. They content themselves with something less than what they are actually capable of.
“Attitudes are more important than facts”, this is a truth that is expressed by a famous psychiatrist Dr. Karl Menninger. Any fact facing us, no matter how much difficult, is not as important as our attitude towards that fact. The inferiority complex victim sees all facts through discolored attitude. In order to correct this, simply have a normal view and this is always bent towards the positive side.
One of the most powerful ways to cure lack of self confidence is the thought that God is actually with you and helping you. No other idea is so powerful in developing self confidence as this simple belief when practiced. Spend several minutes each day visualizing his presence and believe that your visualization is true.
So to sum up - here are a few rules that will help you built self confidence.
1. Formulate in your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture and never let it fade. Mind always tries to complete what it pictures.
2. Whenever a negative thought conquer your mind, think of a positive thought and cancel it.
3. Do not build up obstacles in your imagination.
4.Never try to copy people. Remember that you are unique and nobody can be as efficient as YOU can.
5. Learn the origins of your inferiority feelings. Self knowledge leads to a cure.
6. Put yourself in God’s hands.
7. Remind yourself that God is with you and nothing can defeat you.
It’s rightly said, “They conquer who believe they can”. Emerson once said, “Do the thing you fear and the death of fear is certain”. Practice the above given rules religiously and they will surely help you to ‘Believe in yourself’.
