Canada is always been known as an easy target for immigrants. It is for this reason that we have a number of people migrating to Canada every year, who exploit the dodge in our legal system. It is amazing that many people who face serious criminal charges elsewhere in the world are easily admissible to this place and remain here for years and years. They are able to do so because they possess money or political affluence.
At the same time, you will find many cases where helpless, unfortunate people, who are in actual need of Canada’s help are ordered deportation. There seems to be no consideration of their circumstance and needs.
The above fact can be seen in Tikhonova’s case. After spending a upsetting childhood in Russia, Tikhonova married an American at the age of 20. After the marriage, she entered into Canada in the year 1996, with the belief that her husband would take care of the for her landed-immigrant status, as he promised to do so. Unfortunately, he did not keep his promise and later it was found that the American was a fraud artist who was already married.
Destiny was cruel to Tikhonova yet again. After being lonely again, she entered into another relationship with a man who left her after the birth of their daughter in the year 2004. After all this, Tikhonova is now being deported back to Russia, although she has been living in this country for more than ten years and has a three-year old daughter who is a Canadian citizen.
It can be said that she along with her daughter are in a terrible situation as even the Federal Court of Canada has dismissed her appeal for a review of the decision of deporting her.
