Are there real good jobs available in the Canadian marketplace or the alleged “skill shortage” a lie that is being propagated by Canadian Government to earn good money from immigrants and a ploy to get cheap labor from poor countries and which is further being exploited by greedy immigration agents to make quick buck from hapless persons who are ready to pay their hefty fees through nose.
As you immigrate to Canada, you need to open a banking account. On the face of it, it appears too simple issue to discuss about opening of bank account, then why a blog about it? Banking in Canada is much different from banking in India or Pakistan.
So, continuing in my series; today, I would share my views on Children education in Canada. Here, the law says all children from 6 to 16 years old must go to school. But most children begin school in kindergarten class when they are 4 or 5 years old. After one or two years in kindergarten they go to grade 1. Kindergarten to grade 8 is called elementary school. Grade 9 to grade 12 is called secondary school or high school.
Continuing with previous series about, settling in Canada, today we discuss about how to select a family Doctor in Canada. In Canada, you need to find a doctor who is taking new patients. Such family doctor is usually the first person you see when you do not feel well or when you are sick.
Okay, so continuing with the series on my experiences in settling in Canada; today, we discuss the possible settlement place in Canada. Choosing this is no mean job. Lets face it, most of us coming from India, Pakistan, Lanka or countries around are not used to harsh winters. During initial days of settlement, budgets are limited for most immigrants and hence most of immigrants don’t have car, or don’t have “Right hand Drive” skills, no license and sometimes even the winter clothing to beat Canadian weather.
Most people try to stay with friends or relatives in initial few days of their stay. Okay, if you have someone that is willing to help you, good enough. But such stays are for very short-lived duration and not generally very healthy.
Moving to a new country can be difficult. Leaving behind friends and sometimes family is hard. There are many things which may be different from the country that you just left. School, health care, jobs and the law may all seem very strange depending on where you came from. Finding your way in Ontario can take a long time, especially if you don’t have the right information and don’t know what to do.
