Immigration should not mean issuing of passports. Immigrants should be also provided with sufficiently paid skilful jobs to meet household expenditures. This is done to curb the increasing poverty and frustration in the immigrants. The 2008 centralized budget has a blend of a number of issues including debt payment, tax free savings account and some debt relief for students and tax cuts for seniors. The federal budget stated that $22 million will be spent between two years, rising to $37 million per year by 2012-13, to "modernize" the immigration system, allowing faster processing of permanent resident applications. The program is designed to condense the stay time of immigrants who cud have had "immediate impact" on the economy. Our enthusiasm to bring immigrants in quickly and our inability to create jobs in their chosen fields are contradictory.

Canadian immigration is simple and people from any country can easily immigrate into Canada and this simple process attracts every one to immigrate to Canada. Due to the huge increase in immigrant people from different countries to Canada there arise many problems within the country. Therefore the minister made the Canadian immigration policy little bit tough for restricting the number of immigrants to Canada. Immigration and citizen minister Diane Finley has finally stated that her proper immigration measures are focused on reducing the number of immigrants who are eligible to come to Canada. In 2006, the Conservative government admitted 10,500 fewer permanent residents than the previous Liberal government, and 25,500 fewer in 2007 when only 236,689 permanent residents came to Canada. The Conservative government has actually cut the total number of permanent residents that would have been admitted to Canada over the last two years by 36,000.

Diana Finley who is the Immigration Minister plays an important role in defending her department’s controversial advertising for promoting reforms that have yet to be passed into law. The department makes several advertisement programs for this purpose and they began running advertisements in several radio stations across the country and different ethnic newspapers within the country. The government launched an ad campaign in hundreds of ethnic newspapers, at a cost of $1.1-million, touting the measures while they are still before Parliament.

Immigration is a very important thing for all countries and each country has its own rules and laws relating to its immigration policies. The entire practice of migration must be in accordance with the immigration laws of the country. Immigration laws are intended to conduct immigration efficiently and they were introduced to control immigration. The troubled Immigration Service is again under fire with news staffs at its Pacific division have been involved in a raft of offences including bribery and fraud. There are lots of people who try to violate the rules and regulation in immigration policy of a country for their personal benefits. Immigration laws are formulated according to the immigration policy of the country. Each country has different perspective on immigration.

The present Canadian government favors immigration policy as the Prime Minister Stephen Harper himself is a keen supporter of this policy. Though there are confounded fears in the mind of the people, that this intake of immigrants will reduce the annual intake of immigrants the government believes it to be otherwise.

Canada had been experiencing an all time high market rates in the housing department as the price of the houses had reached skyrocketing heights for the past nine years. It was seen that the sales of homes that started in the West last year reached Toronto in the first quarter of 2008, gaining momentum as the heat of prices reached a nationwide high sales figures, though this boom has been declared officially over as per the latest report by Douglas Porter deputy chief economist at BMO Capital Markets. It was reported that a total of 75,476 homes changed hands in the first quarter of this year compared to the year 2007. Though this figure may have been distorted by a few people. But then the figures may be more or less near the figures mentioned above.
