The music of ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’
After the huge success of ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, Karan comes again with his latest movie ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’. People have huge expectations from this film and going by its star cast, it will surely be a treat to watch the film.
But the main question everyone is asking Is Kabhi Alveda Naa Kehna album a winner? Does it surpass Karan Johar’s previous albums of KKHH, K3G and KHNH?
Well, the answer is yes. The music sure is good though not earth shattering. It has a variety of songs and the sale of the album is likely to go more up in the coming days. The sound track of the movie is great and because of this, the wait for the movies release in August 11 is quite high.
The title track of the film ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ is the best song of the album. It is a slow and a soothing number. There are a few people who deserve credit for this song. First is Javed Akhtar who wrote the lyrics. His lyrics are very thoughtful every time. Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik sang the song so beautifully that it touched everyone’s hearts.
Another hit track is ‘Mitwa’ which has a Pakistani feel to it. It has a good rhythm and the singer, Shafqat Amanat Ali has done a brilliant job in this song. The lyrics of this song also are written by Javed Akhtar. There is also a Mitwa Revisited, which is also great as the original song.
Just like the song ‘It’s the Time to Disco’ that dominated many discos, there is a song like that in this film too that is bound to rock the discos in the coming days. ‘Where’s The Party Night’ is sung by Shann and Vasundhara Das and will surely be liked by the youth.
For romantic lovers, there’s ‘Tumhi Dekho Naa’, which is another great song that makes Kabhi Alveda Naa Kehna album so far a huge winner. It is sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. This slow romantic number has a soothing tune.
If you like Pretty Woman from ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, then you will love Rock N Roll Soniye, however if you hate Pretty Woman, then this track may not impress you. This is definitely the worst track in the album, which will have Amitabh Bachchan singing it. This track comes as a huge surprise and turns out to be the biggest liability in this album. Everything from the singing (Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan and Mahalaxmi Iyer), to the musical arrangements, to the lyrics is quite average in this song. The English lyrics tend to sound irritating during the song. However, the plus point in this song is that it should look good on screen, but on audio, it’s quite disappointing.
The end of the album is a farewell theme which starts off slow but gets better. It’s definitely a good way to end the album
Well, here you have it, ‘Kabhi Alveda Naa Kehna’ is a winner in terms of music, and we hope it reflects on its music sales. Javed Ahktar must be complimented and so does Karan for making a different film than his usual family dramas.
