Shiney’s shining

There is an iteresting reason about Shiny Ahuja's unconventional first name. When people from the industry suggested that he change his name, he refused.

When asked the reason why is he so much attached to this name, the actor said that the name is given to him by his father with lots of love. He said that is father's name is Suraj and he wanted his son's name to shine and therefore named him Shiney.

No wonder Shiney is really shining bright with films like ‘Gangster’ and 'Hazaron Khwahishen Aisi'.

A romantic comedy or a family drama?

There have been a lot of speculations about the subject of Dharmesh Darshan's next, 'Aap Ki Khatir '. According to the producer, Ratan Jain, the movie is a romantic comedy and although Akshaye Khanna and Priyanka Chopra are playing the main leads, Sunil Shettt, Anupam Kher and Dino Morea too have important roles. In a way it is a family drama and is about a lot of people.

Mr. Jain, we are somewhat confused!

Rehman does it again

After working with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the musical ' Bombay Dreams', it's time for A.R. Rahman to make the Shire of J.R.R. Tolkien come alive with the sound of his music. After a rousing premier in Toronto, the stage musical is headed to London's West End. While the producers maintain that gravelly-voiced singer-songwriter Tom Waits was briefly considered, in the end Rahman got the chance to set the ring tone to Tolkien's classic.

The 'desi mozart' will, however, not be alone. Along with him is the Finnish folk music band Varritina.

Javed Akhtar and Himesh for Vipul’s new film

Vipul Shah has managed to rope in top music director Himesh Reshammiya and legendary lyricist Javed Akhtar for his Akshay-Katrina-Upen starrer 'Namaste London'.

According to Javed Akhtar, what convinced him about teaming up with Himesh was the fact that Himesh told him " Please don't care about what the required words are, what the movie requires or what the compulsions are. Just write your own lyrics/poetry and I will compose the music accordingly."
