Ritesh’s dream will remain a dream

I am sure that you people are unaware but let me tell you…..Ritesh had a small cameo in Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’.

It was Ritesh’s dream to work in Karan Johar’s movie. However, he is highly disappointed now as his dream will remain a dream. His cameo has been left back on the editing table.

It is a common feature in Karan’s movie to keep cameos of some hot favourite stars. This time, Kajol, John Abraham, Arjun Rampal, Ritesh, etc played cameos. However, the cameos of the other three have been retained while Ritesh's has been chopped off.

The movie was becoming too long and the length of the movie had to be maintained. And it was Ritesh’s cameo that was chopped off. Karan said that he did not wanted to remove the scene but had no other option. He also said that Ritesh will have no problem as it was just a cameo and not really important to the storyline.

Arjun Rampal, who also has a cameo in the film, revealed that Karan is one gem of a director and he had great fun shooting with him. He feels that Karan is kind of a filmmaker who spoils his actors and he was really treated very well on the sets. He also feels that Dharma Productions is amazing and Karan takes full care in every detail of the film as he is a perfectionist.

According to Arjun, he has worn some outstanding clothes in the movie. He was elated of the fact that he shot for five days in New York at different locations.

John Abraham plays a DJ in the film while Kajol features in a song in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

Well, about the story of ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’, it is the story of Dev and Maya, both married to different people and completely convinced that they are happy, until they meet each other.

The role of Dev is played by Shahrukh. Dev is a footballer but because of an accident, he cannot play anymore. Dev is married to Rhea (Preity Zinta) whose career is on an upswing.

They have a son, Arjun, and Dev’s mother, Kamaljit (Kirron Kher) lives with them. Maya (Rani Mukherji) teaches at a nursery and has married her closest friend Rishi (Abhishek Bachchan), a PR consultant.

Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of Samarjit Singh aka Sam, who is Rishi’s father. Sam is a fun loving man whose life revolves around the happiness of his son and daughter-in-law.

The two couples seem content despite the dissatisfaction below the surface but things start to change when a chance encounter between Dev and Maya brings them closer. There is a strange connection between them which blossoms into friendship.

Their time together soon causes complications. This new-found friendship between Dev and Maya causes them to look into their marriages with a new perspective and face up to issues that they hadn’t before.

How all the different characters deal with this new development in their lives forms the theme of ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’.

I am sure that with such a huge star cast and karan behind the camera, the movie will surely rock.
