Hollywood:-For most actors, having two of their films opening within a week of each other could spell career suicide, but for Elijah Wood, who played Frodo in the ''Lord of the Rings'' trilogy, it is a stroke of good fortune.
The roles he plays in Green Street Hooligans and Everything is Illuminated are vastly different, and Wood, 24, wants his fans to see him as something other than forthright ring-bearing, pointy-ear, fat-footed Hobbit Frodo.
"It's actually kind of awesome to have two very different films and two very different characters come out in close proximity. I'm more excited than fearful," he said.
Typically, actors want to see their films spread months apart so fans don't get overwhelmed by their work, diluting the star's marquee value.
But Wood's problem is different. With the Rings trilogy, a $ 2.9 billion global box office behemoth, still present in moviegoer minds, Wood knows he needs to change fans' perception of him.
Since 2003's final instalment in the fantasy trilogy, Wood has portrayed a sleazy lab technician in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and a serial killer in Sin City.
