Beijing--People are again battling against yet another natural disaster which is creating havoc, but this time it is in East China. Over 2,10,000 people living off the shore in east China's Fujian have been evacuated to safety, as Typhoon Longwang, named after the fabled dragon king of rains, that hit Taiwan earlier in the day began speeding towards the province. According to state media reports evacuation has began in Ningde, Fuzhou, Putian, Quanzhou, Xiamen and Zhangzhou to the low lands of the coastal region. Local meteorological bureau said that the typhoon, 19th to hit China this year, is moving towards Fujian at a speed of 25 kilometres an hour and is expected to reach the province in the night. The typhoon might cause serious impact to the province, it warned. Local governments have asked the boats on the sea to return, and tourism departments to inform travelers about the typhoon. Activities celebrating the 56th National Day might be put on hold, according to the situation of the typhoon. In September, three typhoons landed at China including Talim, Khanun and Damrey, more than the average 1.63 typhoons every September since the new China was founded in 1949. The typhoons have wrecked great havoc in China, leaving about 33.13 million people affected and about 160 dead.
